About me

My name is Julie, I'm a junior game designer based in Paris and Montpellier. I like making experimental games with meaningful mechanics !

After 5 years of studies in video game and a 6-month internship in Technical Game Design at DigixArt, I am available for my first job in the industry.

  • Rational Game Design, player oriented

  • Prototypes in visual scripting, mainly in UE5

  • Narrative design, writing and world building

  • Design sketches and mockups

  • 3D art (the full workflow from creating assets to their in-game integration)

  • Video editing

... are part of the skills that I use on a daily-basis in my work !

Three projects that meant a lot to me :

An opportunity to express

Memory Ground was the project that gave me an opportunity to talk about important subjects. Tourism have an impact on locals, in Tunisia, luxury hostels are getting built where people used to live. The game focus on  character/player's emotions around this awful hotel. I learned a lot about designing meaningful mechanics.

Last Order was the graduation project that we did in my first video-game school.

With 6 wonderful people, we learned how to communicate, work as a team and also learn new skills on how to make video games ! We went into a crazy adventure to create a full game in VR, using Unreal 4 at a time where we barely knew how to use this engine !

An opportunity to learn

Fock It or Fock Off is a project that we did when we met Tatiana Vilela Dos Santos.

She introduced us to Alt-ctrl Games and how creative this medium is. I learned how to play with player's expectations and surprise through onboarding. Plus it had a big success on Twitter, I really felt part of the video-game scene.

An opportunity to experiment

Designing games ...

I've decided to put my focus on game design because it's where I found what I loved to do.

For me, game design is all about making sure that the game's interactions and mechanics are easy to understand and share for the whole team.

Information get lost by explaining ideas through text or language so I like to use quick sketches to convey ideas and help others add their own opinion to create a bigger picture.

When working on a team, I try to anticipate any problems that might come up and think about how to incorporate features in a cohesive system.

The thing I'm most proud of is that I'm always looking for inspiration through other media and bringing new references to the team.
